THE MUSEUM & CHURCH

Bygone days

A vast collection of fascinating exhibits, ranging from massive farm machines to everyday household items, traces the history of rural life at Bicton and elsewhere in Britain over the last three centuries.

Age of steam

Immaculately preserved traction engines and other giant vehicles from the Steam Age are on show. The thousands of exhibits include early tractors, ploughs, pony carts, wooden wagons, gardening tools and gamekeepers' traps.

Cider & cream

Traditional ways of making Devon's famous cider, clotted cream, butter and cheese are explained in the museum's educational displays.

Royal worship

Queen Victoria, George VI and the late Queen Mother are among the monarchs understood to have worshipped at St Mary's Church, which adjoins the gardens.
