Set in the impressive setting of The Orangery with breath-taking views across the Italian Garden, the restaurant has two stately rooms separated by a central temple with an open colonnade. It has to be one of the most unique and spectacular settings around to enjoy a delicious bite to eat. Families can enjoy hassle-free dining with children sized hot meals and our ever popular picnic box for little ones which includes a colouring page to keep them entertained.
The Italian garden and classically styled Temple Orangery harmonise so well that it is difficult to believe they were not developed at the same time. In fact some 70 years elapsed between the creation of the garden and completion of the building in the early 19th century. Orangeries were used to provide frost protection for container-grown citrus trees and palms, which were placed outside in the summer. Still today citrus trees can be found inside the orangeries during winter until it is warm enough for them to be placed outside.
