At Bicton Park Botanical Gardens there is plenty of indoor and outdoor fun and educational activities for children to enjoy. We do not allow dogs to play in the Indoor Play Area, Outdoor Play Area and Farm Yard.
Our heated indoor play barn is an all year round destination for those with young children where they can burn off energy on a range of soft play equipment. Guardians can relax and watch the children having fun in the play barn café where hot or cold drinks and snacks are available all year round.
Our main outdoor play area offers a range of play equipment where youngsters can swing, spin and climb. During the summer cold drinks, ice creams, confectionary and snacks are all available from the play areas kiosk with lots of picnic tables at which to enjoy these or your own picnic
The Farmyard is a firm favourite with young children where they can make play on many different toys and move hay to their hearts content. There is also a covered seating area and hot drinks facility.
To encourage children to connect with nature we run a Pollinator Trail for them to follow and find out a little more about the significance of pollinators such as birds, bats, bees, butterflies, beetles, and other small mammals that pollinate plants and are responsible for bringing us one out of every three bites of food.
Bicton is very pleased to be home to such an array of wildlife and regular visitors of course include ducks. These ducks are wild but are very friendly and even let you hand feed them if they are in a good mood. We have specific food available at reception that is a recommended duck food. You can buy it at reception or pre order online to reserve it.
